Dubai’s first family-friendly rave is due to launch

Dubai family rave: Guests can expect plenty of house, garage and drum&bass from local and international DJs– “but with lower sound levels that’s safe for young ears”, said Vip Patel, the owner of Party Monsters, who be organising the event.

“The rave culture rose massively in the 90s and early noughties and ravers from those generations are now starting families. Party Monsters is giving them the opportunity to share this experience, in a controlled, family friendly environment, with their children,” Patel continued.

Aside from the new party venture, Patel is also owner of dad blog, Dubai Dad, and Tim Woodstock, champion of the Drum and Bass genre in the UAE and founder of Bassworx.

The first event will be held on 11th November at The Backyard at Steigenberger Hotel in Business Bay. Unlike 90s raves, however the Party Monsters event will be held at the much more family-friendly time of 12noon-until 5pm.  The event will then be held on every second Saturday of the month, from November 2017 to April 2018.

There will be plenty of child-friendly activities on offer including a soft play area with a ball pool, play tents and tunnels, as well as a baby sensory dance floor with bubble machines, parachute and pompoms, giant balloons and kid friendly club lighting and visuals.

There will also be an arts and crafts area, which will have face painting and balloon animals. Alternative entertainment will be on hand from Street magician Darbie Kim and there will also be a Hub Zero arcade station.

We want to “recreate the festival feel in a safe and fun environment for new and experienced ravers of all ages.”

“To make things a bit more fun, there will be optional fancy dress themes every month, giving kids a chance to dress up as their favourite animals and characters. The November launch event is themed Jungle Friends and Party Monsters invites guests of all ages to come dressed as jungle animals,” said Patel.

The venue will have a host of F&B options specifically designed to cater to toddlers, kids and adults along with a licensed bar.

Headlining the season opener will be History of House head honcho, Jon Besant, who has taken his brand across the globe with successful events in Dubai, Marbella and the UK. Sharing the decks with Besant will be Dance FM’s latest recruit and Party Monsters’ very own Woodle, and Bassworx resident, Tigger, both well-known in the underground music scene for their mastery behind the decks.
