3 Family-friendly Things To Do This Week

  • Take your little ninjas to LEGOLAND Dubai to unleash their skills and try out the Be Ninja experience. From this weekend until September 29, your children can sign up to the Ninja training academy (at Imagination) where they complete six missions – from scavenger hunts to ball pits, balancing courses,  speed skill tests and more. All newly trained warriors receive a ninja pop badge and certificate. Head to the Lego Studios after to watch the short 4D movie, NINJAGO® Master of the 4th Dimension. Details: The Be Ninja event is complimentary for guests who have a valid Legoland Dubai ticket. UAE/GCC residents aged 3 and above can get their tickets for just Dhs165 (entry to to Legoland water park is included). Visit LEGOLAND.ae

  • Head down to the newly opened Virgin Megastore at Dubai Mall for PLAYFEST, this Saturday. The event brings together the best of street culture, tech and kids activities. This Saturday (September 29th), kids and teens can participate in a Fifa PS4 competition, and VR Experience Red Bull Player One. Drop them off and go on a shopping spree! Details: Free entry, from 4-7pm. Visit virginmegastore.ae

  • Going shopping at Mall of the Emirates? Stop by Café Bateel when the hunger pangs kick in. The newly opened outlet, across H&M and Victoria’s Secret on the ground floor, is an inviting space complete with plush leather couches to sit back and unwind. We highly recommend the lentil soup – portions are quite generous, so you could share with your dining partner – and the nutrient-packed superfood salad with butternut squash, quinoa, pomegranate, greens and seeds, to begin with. For mains, you can’t go wrong with their chicken fusilli made with a creamy moreish labneh sauce – it’s our go-to dish at Bateel – or the succulent lamb confit on a bed of faro risotto – great for meat-lovers. If you do have space for desserts, try their selection of ice creams and dates, or the decadent sticky toffee date pudding with an espresso or cuppa. Contact +9714 393 1536.
