Blockbuster line up of free movies at Yas Movies in the Park begins this month
It’s just over one week to go until the launch of Yas Movies in the Park – the free movie extravaganza at du Arena, Yas Island. So if you’re looking for a weekend of family fun later this month, you’re in the right place!
Kicking off on Thursday 18th October 2018, and running until Saturday 20th, doors open from 3pm as du Arena brings the magic of the movies to life with film themed activities for kids and adult to enjoy before and between each movie screening.
There will be a giant funfair; food trucks galore serving the very best cinema movie food including nachos, hotdogs and popcorn; virtual reality (VR) experiences; and a dedicated kid zone with everything from bouncy castles, arts and crafts to face painting.
You’ll be able to join in the action with audience participation and sing-along as live bands play hits from the movies. For those wishing to add to the experience, come dressed as your favorite movie character and you’ll get chances to win prizes throughout the three-day Yas Movies in the Park experience.

Thursday 18th October 2018 – Family Movie Night (Followed by Fright Night for 18+)
On Thursday it’s ‘Family Movie Night’ with Disney’s animated movie and musical adventures film Moana at 6pm followed by dinosaur action with Jurassic World at 8.30pm. As the sun goes down, Movies in the Park will transform for those 18 years old and above with supernatural horror film IT at 11pm (PG18).
Friday 19th October 2018 – Mamma Mia – Immersive Cinema Experience
Yas Movies in the Park will transform for the UAE’s only immersive cinema experience as Mamma Mia plays at 7.30pm on the big screen and West-End dancers and actors perform and sing-along to ABBA’s hit songs which inspired the movie including Money, Money, Money; Super Trouper; Take a Chance on Me; and Thank you for the Music. You’ll be able to join in the action with audience participation and sing-along as part of the fun. After all the action, relax with a chick -flick favorite How to Lose a Guy in 10 days at 9:30pm live on the big screen.
Saturday 20th October 2018 – Family & Friends Movie Afternoon
On Saturday 20th October, bring your friends and family together for an afternoon of fun before movie favourites the Disney musical film The Lion King at 6pm followed by Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban at 8pm. For all those Harry Potter fans out there grab your magic wands, invisibility cloaks and your sorting hats as the best fancy dress and lookalikes will get the chance to win VIP tickets.
