Fun things to do in Dubai this weekend to kick the January blues

It’s the first weekend back to reality; the kids are back at school, office hours are back to normal, and the sad truth that the festive season is well and truly over for another year has now set in.

But, don’t wallow in the January blues – because there’s still plenty of fun activities to get involved with this weekend in Dubai that the whole family are sure to enjoy.

Attend a kids slime party

Head down to Melia Palm this Saturday for a party with slippery fun. The slime party will let your little ones explore and create their own personal slime, with safe materials, and under watchful eyes. Kids can enjoy slimy fun at the resort’s Epicure Lounge, while the adults can make the most of the Saturday Pool BBQ at Epicure, starting from AED 245 per person, from 12.30pm to 4pm.

Details: The slime party runs from 12:30pm to 2:30pm this Saturday, and is priced at AED 100 per child, inclusive of F&B and slime! For bookings, call 04 602 9303 or email at eat.dp@melia.com

Hang out with Masha at MOE

Children can enter the enchanted world of Masha and the Bear at Mall of the Emirates to meet the energetic three-year-old Masha and the warm paternal Bear who keeps her out of trouble during their adventures. Kids can engage with the dynamic duo and participate in workshops teaching them about creativity, loyalty and true friendship. Kids will be supervised as they pair up to go fishing in the magnet fishing game and even get involved in Virtual Reality games where they can choose to become Bear or Masha for “real” and experience some of their adventures.

Details: Masha’s World will be open at Central Galleria from 1pm to 10pm between January 10th and January 19th. Mall of the Emirates will also host special Masha and the Bear shows daily starting at 1pm.

Try Black Tap’s new weekend breakfast menu

Head to the ocean side branch of everyone’s favorite craft burger and CrazyShake milkshake joint between 10am and 4pm this weekend, and you’ll find a breakfast menu as impressive as a Broadway blockbuster.

Continuing its American luncheonette experience, with old school tunes, and classic dishes with a modern touch, Black Tap now offers eggs, pancakes, sandwiches and premium baked goods on top of its Instagram-worthy burger stacks and wild shakes.

Details: The weekend breakfast menu is now available at Black Tap at Jumeirah Al Nasseem. To make a booking, call 04 422 9904.
