We are increasingly becoming a sleepless society, with nearly 20 to 30 per cent of the ‘working age’ population not getting the right amount of deep restorative sleep.
What happens when we don’t get enough sleep?
Sleep deprivation leads to a breakdown of mental and physical function within just days. Without sleep, we simply won’t function.
Chronic insufficient sleep leads to a noticeable drop in energy levels, unbalanced mood, difficulty in concentrating, memory loss, and increased irritability. Saudi German Hospital-Dubai proactively launches diabetes awareness to reduce Diabetes risks in Dubai
Scientific research indicates that diabetes is the top cause of blindness among adults aged between 20-74 years. This is because high blood sugar can permanently damage blood vessels in the eyes. This information is part of the public outreach campaign launched by Saudi German Hospital-Dubai during Diabetes Awareness Month.
The condition, called diabetic retinopathy, causes blood vessels to thicken, leak, develop clots, close or expand. Another consequence is fluid accumulation in crucial parts of the retina used in tasks such as reading.… Continue reading

Willows Nursery is helping mums and children escape the heat by having a greatly laid out summer program. They have very interactive activities for children, including music, modern dancing, ballet dancing, and even karate classes! Students here definitely love to learn because the staff is very friendly and fun. This is definitely one summer camp that kids will wake up early for!

The “kidz” enrolled in this program are taught how science can be used in their daily lives, with hands-on activities that nurture their minds and instil in them a passion for discovery and experimentation! The China Court at Ibn Battuta Mall was bustling with the many little ones. Children from the ages of 4-12 come to The China Court to attend summer camp. They have a varied selection of activities to choose from: drawing, painting, arts and crafts, PlayStation, indoor sports—practically anything their little hearts may desire! Parents are able to relax and know that their children are stimulating their creative brain cells this summer. This is an ongoing event until mid-August

Coffee, yoga, and fun crafts for mums at Dubai Outlet Mall
Mums came to Dubai Outlet Mall on the 14th of July to enjoy a relaxing and informative Coffee Morning . Three guest speakers engaged audiences with varied topics. Mothers found their inner peace as Sara conducted an interactive yoga session. Dr. Lubna from IDS spoke about the importance of supplements for children. Nafeesa, our MBC promoter, demonstrated watermelon carving techniques into a blossoming rose shape! Mums also scored plenty of free-bees, especially from Palmers and Barni.
Summer in Abu Dhabi opens!
The Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority has did it again! Summer in Abu Dhabi opened with a big bang at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) Halls 9 to 12 – a massive array of mega summer activities! Mother, Baby & Child Magazine was there to be part of the grand opening held last June 20. Come with the whole family to experience the Ice Age Village, Adventure Worlds, Clown Stunt Academy, a bigger-than-ever summer playground, fun fair rides and games! Summer in Abu Dhabi is ongoing until July 19.
