A free-to-use ice rink is opening at this popular Dubai beach

Immerse yourself in the winter spirit at Jumeirah Beach Residence’s (JBR) family-friendly schedule of free-to-attend festive activities this December.

For the first time ever, JBR will be home to an ice-skating rink, with the holding area in the form of a giant igloo, while a winter forest will offer the ultimate backdrop for memorable family photos at one of Dubai’s most popular resident and tourist attractions. The synthetic ice rink, which is more environmentally friendly than conventional ice rinks, is also completely free for visitors to enjoy.

With a diverse cast of holiday-themed characters due to be roaming up and down The Walk, festive-goers will be able to spot everyone from a breakdancing Santa and his little helpers, to The Grinch, nutcrackers and The Sticky Bandits, the mischievous duo from the Home Alone movies.

Regular #WOWJBR activations are also set to return and visitors can win big with a festive version on the human claw; participants are strapped in, raised in the air and then lowered over a pit to grab prizes from an assortment of JBR retailers

Visitors can also win gifts directly from the North Pole by listening out for a ringing phone, with the first person to answer in with the chance to win mega prizes. Elsewhere, a giant interactive Rubik’s cube game will challenge families’ puzzle solving skills with big prizes on offer.

Details: Kicking off from 6.30pm on Thursday, 5 December, and running every weekend until Friday, 27 December. All activities on The Walk, JBR, are free of charge and suitable for all ages.
