Many babies experience digestive discomfort in the early months – from trapped wind and colic to constipation. Certain massage techniques, like gentle clockwise strokes on the tummy or “bicycling” their legs, can help stimulate their digestion and ease any discomfort.

Similarly, when your baby is teething and a bit unsettled, a gentle head, jaw or back massage can offer natural relief and comfort – plus, it’s a fantastic way to be present with them during a tricky time.

Massage helps babies become more aware of their bodies, supporting their coordination and muscle development. Through touch, they start to recognise where their arms and legs are, how they move and what different sensations feel like.

Even newborns benefit from this kind of gentle stimulation – it can improve their circulation and encourage some early movement and flexibility.
