Karen Osman – winner of the Montegrappa Writing Prize at the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature and mother of two – releases her second book, The Home, on all digital platforms. The paperback version hits stands on October 4.

Published by Aria Fiction, the novel tells the tale of Angela, a girl desperate to escape her dark childhood and after years, discovers the identity of her birth mother Evelyn. Unfortunately, their reunion is anything but a fairy tale, with sinister events unfolding and Evelyn’s birth mother living in fear that she may not survive her daughter’s return.

“I have been so pleased with the success of The Good Mother, and writing The Home has been another incredible experience. I wanted to take a similar look at complex relationships, this time going back to childhood, when we all deserve to feel safe. The book explores how everyone has multiple sides to their personality and to what extent an individual’s actions are shaped by influences beyond their control,” says Karen Osman. The Dubai-based mom and founder of Travel Ink (a niche communications company) is originally from the United Kingdom, and has spent over twenty years living in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. She received her BA in Linguistics and English Language from the University of Durham and a Teaching (TEFL) Certificate from the University of Cambridge.
